Katarzyna Ziemba

Kate and Enya

My name is Katarzyna, but most people call me Kate. I am the proud owner of Little Stars Nursery.

My journey in working with children started as a nanny in 2002 for a family in Stoke Newington, who became very dear to my heart. I looked after two wonderful sisters until 2011. Meanwhile, in 2008, I began studying Child Care and Development at City and Islington College. During my first year of studies, I volunteered at Manor Road Under 5’s Playgroup, where I gained a lot of valuable experience in childcare practice. I worked alongside the manager, Rosie, who guided me through my experience at the playgroup. After leaving the playgroup, I joined William Patten Primary School in Stoke Newington, where I worked for two years as a Teacher Assistant in the reception y4 and y6 classes, while continuing my studies through level 3.

The experience of working at William Patten Primary School was truly gratifying and satisfying. I was able to be part of a great community with brilliant colleagues, fantastic children, and families. In 2011, my partner and I were blessed with our daughter Enya. Since I started working at Stoke, my dream was to open a nursery. When Enya turned 1, we were lucky enough to find a little gem on Allen Road and started the process of transforming the previous coffee shop into our Little Stars Nursery. It was a dream come true for me to finally achieve this.

Every day at the setting gives me the joy and privilege to see so many children grow and develop, and to meet amazing families, some of whom have become very close to me over the years.

My qualifications include Cache Level 1, 2, and 3 NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning, and Development, Paediatric First Aid, Level 2 in Food Safety, Designated Safeguarding Lead, and SENCO.
